Rivercane covered hundreds of thousands of acres throughout the Southeast for thousands of years. It prevented erosion and mitigated floods and it was a staple of southeast native peoples. Given the almost two year anniversary of the devastation caused by Tropical Storm Helene, its time to re-explore the value of bringing this native plant back. As a environmental guardian and an important source of native artisan crafts. The World Premiere of Raising Cane, a new film by David Weintraub and the Center for Cultural Preservation, is Saturday, September 19 at 7:00 pm. In addition to music and the film screening, the program will include a discussion with native elders and conservation experts. And a party featuring desserts and drinks to celebrate the Center’s 15th anniversary. Advanced registration is required. All tickets are $20 per person for the premiere at the Thomas Auditorium at Blue Ridge Community College. Sponsors get name recognition on all film publicity and discounts on tickets.

It will be such an honor to be part of the celebration of so many years of Joy at Lake Eden! I'll be performing a set Friday in the historic barn on Friday Saturday, I'll be doing something in the Healing Space & Sunday - I'm TOTALLY EXCITED about putting together an ORCHESTRA of my HANDMADE CERAMIC UDU DRUMS to commemorate the release of the book "Living Life Like a Festical"

This reunion is its celebration bringing to life traditions we love while dreaming and playing to see what emerges for the next legacy gathering to carry us into the future. Grey Eagle Music Hall, the original host of festivals at Lake Eden 1983-1989, are collaborating to curate music and be the ticketing partner for your passes.
