It's been a jam packed summer for me between festivals & teaching. Summers are always my busiest time. But busy in a wonderful way...
And since I need to pack to leave for my next excursion, I need to just say THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for being part of my bliss bubble.

As many of you know, Ive been a percussionist for many years. 18 years ago I bought a neat traditional drum called a cajon. Not many folks knew about them or played them back then, but Eugeno Huanca, one of the members of my former multi-cultural band turned me on to it. It's played in many styles & can be very versatile.
Over the years I started thinking about cool ways to customize one to fit my particular style & I started looking into companies I wanted to approach with my ideas. WELL then I happened upon
SWAN PERCUSSION !!!

They started a few years ago & were already creating a HUGE buzz because of all of the innovative things they were doing to make their cajons & drums & percussion toys make all sorts of different sounds! I played one of their cajons & had to have one. So I bought it & broke it out for the first time at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. I was swamped with people approaching me asking about it, saying they may want one & taking cards & brochures (which I had snagged when I bought mine because I was so excited that I wanted to help spread the word)
The nutshell is that
I've been asked to be a rep for SWAN PERCUSSION!
Ive decided to go for it because I truly & absolutely LOVE every bit of what they do & Im honored & excited about helping get what I think are brilliantly designed drums into as many hands as possible!
FYI- they're a small company owned by Eric Holland & Mike Meadows... who are great drummers & fine craftsmen. I met them because they donated cajons to some of the kids in need at Kerrville's Teen Summer Music Camp!
