I hope this finds you all well & happy & bathing in the positivity of Spring!
As always, I hear of the many ups & downs in my friends & families lives, as well as my own... and not to minimize, but I've been admiring a dear friend now going through an incredibly difficult time who keeps saying "I'm honoring & processing the bad stuff, but then moving on to the good, focusing on the shiny good bits between the slam dunkingly hideous bits... tough as it sometimes is."
Another beacon has been my experience in Pakistan after the earthquake. Folks with family & homes gone & absolutely empty pockets still reached out with mere crumbs & smiled.
So for what it's worth... Those are my examples... Thus my point. After a good cry... Hang in. Shine on. Shine on. It does come back & get better!

THe NEW CD! YES YES. It's FINALLY in stone. I will be recording the new song CD! It WILL be done by the end of the summer. I am so pumped! My biggest decisions are now which unrecorded songs to honor. I'm definitely recording "Life in Harlan" "Melting" "Hallelujah Rose" "Tick Tock Lounge" "Roses & Candy Heart Parades" "Still Circling" "And We Wait"
& am still pondering & pontificating over the rest.
So. YAY YAY YAY. I am practicing & singing & promising to give it my all.

My dear friend Andy Corwin (of The Limeliters) is not only a brilliant musician, he's also a film maker. AND he decided to make a film about Faeries told by renowned artists/storytellers John Curtis Crawford & Bridget Wolfe! The film also features art by Wendy Froud (known best for her characters in Jim Hensens "The Dark Crystal") AND my music!
The film is absolutely stunningly gorgeous and needless to say, I am just honored & BLOWN away to be part of it. As soon as it's available online (I think it'll be just a mere $20) I'll let Y'All know.

"Angel On A Harley"
So there I was... writing about being excited about the FAERIE film, when I was invited by Mina Daeling to perform at The SW Florida "Faerie Festival" But I had no wings... :( So midnight, the night before the gig, I scrounged through my box of fabric & defunct dresses & I found an old red silk dress with pockets on the front. I cut it up & bent wire & hangers & sewed my own wings- leaving the pockets of course, because I figured it's time faeries figure out they should have pockets on their wings so that when they go thru toll booths on their Harleys, they can have their change in a handy place.
Anyway, when I got to the fest, the wings started drooping on the ground & looking quite pathetic, so I sucked it up & bought some REAL Faerie wings (sadly without pockets) I posted the photo on my facebook page & lo & behold my buddy Neale Eckstein decided to write a song called "Angel on a Harley"!
Then Songwriter/performer Eric Schwartz happened to be in town & pitched in- co wrote the song as well... They said since as a nurse, I've done hospice care for numerous friends in music world, they wanted to write a tribute...
